Things Don’t Have to Mess Up Your Relationship with God!!   One of the hardest concepts for many people that desire to reach there full God Potential to grasp is the Law of Detachment. The Law of Detachment says that in order for what you are praying for to manifest into reality you have to be able to relinquish your attachment to it. The concept of detachment is seen in the scriptures as we are told not to worry about things.   Matthew 6:31 MSG  What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving.   Detachment allows you to pray, believing that you will receive from God the desires of your heart, yet not leaving you to be controlled by the outcome. Psalms 21:2 KJV  Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips.   Psalms 37:4 KJV  Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.   Proverbs 13:12 KJV  Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.   God does not have a problem with the desires that emulate from the heart that is submitted to him. God’s problem with this whole picture is when we allow our focus to be totally on our desires and never on pleasing him.   Matthew 6:33 KJV  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.   Matthew 6:33 MSG  Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.   When we take into consideration the omnipresence of God we will come to the understanding that “whatever we desire is where God is, and he has No problem getting it to us, if we allow Him to!” God has promised to give us our desires if we would only seek the kingdom of God first, giving Him our undivided admiration, loyalty and honor for everything we accomplish and receive into our life’s.   Deuteronomy 8:17-18 KJV  And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth (pride).  18  But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.   This is where the Law of Detachment comes into play. Detachment allows us to desire the abundance that God has for us without losing our focus on God. When ever our focus is not on God pride comes in and we find ourselves controlling or being controlled by things and circumstance.  Detachment says, “I want what I want but NOT at the expense of my relationship with God”. I need God MOST OF ALL!! The songwriter said it best, “I’m Happy with Jesus alone”.
